Deciding which college or university to attend can be difficult and it is important to know that there is help available to support your choice if you need it. Equally, it can be difficult to find out what apprenticeship or traineeship opportunities are available to you.
Your school and the Designated Teacher can help you identify the requirements for entry at college and suitable courses. They can also help you to explore the different ways you can get into university and the different types of qualifications which will support this.
We often organise someone to help with your preparation for further and higher education. This could include help with writing your Personal Statement, with college and university visits and with college and UCAS applications.

Planning for Your Future
Begin planning for your future early!
Ask your Designated Teacher to help you discuss possibilities for education, employment and training and use information and guidance provided by the school to inform your decisions regarding which courses to take at GCSE and A Level.
Ask for one to one tuition in English and maths to help you improve your skills in these key areas to achieve your full potential in examinations.
If you have a particular job in mind, find out what skills and qualifications are needed. Talk to your school and Social Worker about this.
Talk with other young people at meetings/events about what they are going to do next and why.
