Takeover Day

On a cold Monday evening in March some young people from the CiCC went to a Takeover Day event at Beaumanor Hall. There were other young people there from local youth councils, the County Youth Council and UKYP. Lots of the managers in CYPS (Children and Young People's Service) asked lots of questions that they wanted young people to answer. Groups of young people, including the CiCC, decided what questions they thought were the best and those were the questions that were answered at the event.

The questions discussed were:

  1. How can the County Council support young people to reach their full potential in work, education and life generally?
  2. Disabled Children and children in care sometimes go on respite breaks away from their homes. How would you design one of these breaks?
  3. What do you think should be written down about you? What shouldn't be? What should be kept confidential?

The answers the young people gave XXX will now be presented to the relevant managers and we should receive an update on what's been done in the summer.
