Extra help to succeed

The P.E.A. (Personal Education Allowance) is an amount of money that can be used to pay for additional one-to-one tuition for you in English and maths to ensure your progress is good. The tuition can cover a range of activities, for example building on specific skills, filling in gaps in your knowledge, helping you to prepare for your coursework or exam practise.

Good skills in literacy, numeracy and English and maths are very important in later life and will also help you to get on the right training or courses at college, university or in the world of work. For example, extra tuition in English and maths will help you to do better. Even if you are doing well, extra tuition can help you to do even better!

Talk to your Social Worker, Designated Teacher or the Virtual School teachers about having one-to-one tuition if you are interested.

If you have some good experiences of one-to-one tuition and how this has helped you to make progress, then we would love to hear from you.
