The primary aim of the Virtual School is to promote educational achievement and positive outcomes for all children in care to Leicestershire, regardless of where they are living in the country.

The Virtual School is an essential advocate for the importance of education and aims to raise self-esteem, expectations and aspirations, to remove barriers to learning and to work with schools and colleges to enable our children and young people to improve their educational outcomes and life chances.

The role of Virtual School Heads and designated teachers in schools has extended to certain previously looked-after children as they continue to experience educational challenges after leaving care.
